Christian Testimonies

What must I do to be Saved?

Accept the fact that we are all sinners, and that sin (satan's independent nature) separates us from God. Man is naturally a sinner, because of the fall of Adam and Eve. Sin was passed down to us. Even a speck of sin will separate us from God. The Bible says that the penalty for sin is death. That is the bad news. The good news is that there is someone who Loves us, and who paid the penalty of sin for us. His name is Jesus. Jesus is God the Son who came to earth as a man. Jesus wasn't just a good teacher. Jesus was God in the form of a man. Jesus Christ paid the price of sin for us. He erased the sin issue, when He died on the cross for us 2000 years ago. Jesus was the only one who lived a perfect life, and His death on the cross was acceptable to wash away all our sins- past present, and future. Only Jesus' blood has the power to wash away our sins. If we believe on Jesus as the Savior, and accept His plan of salvation, we will be saved. Jesus wants to have a personal relationship with you. He wants you to talk to Him through prayer every day.

First of all, I highly recommend you to read John 3:1-21. This chapter in the Bible explains salvation pretty clear. The book of John is special to me, and I like how John explains things, and brings the Gospel across. But at the same time, we have to take in the whole Word of God, and we can see how the plan of salvation fits in perfectly.

There are only two places we can go when we die. Heaven or hell. Jesus Loves us very much- more than anyone else can ever love us. He died for you, so that you can be with Him in Heaven for eternity! The Bible says in John 3:7 "Marvel not that I say unto thee, Ye must be born again." He was talking to Nicodemus in this chapter. In John 3:3, Jesus told Nicodemus that except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

What does it mean to be born again? First of all, a different question must be asked. Why did Jesus die on the cross? The bible says that Jesus died on the cross to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and to pay for all the world's sin - past sin, present sin, and future sins. You do not go to hell because of your sins. Jesus already took care of the sin issue. Jesus blood washes away the sins of the world. The Bible says in John 3:18 "He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." We must believe that Jesus came to the world, died, and rose the third day. This alone isn't salvation, because even Satan and his demons believe in Jesus, and they even know the Word of God.

We must believe the fact that we are sinners, and that without Jesus Christ, we cannot go to heaven. Jesus is the only path to heaven. There is no other way. We must accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, and ask him to forgive us for our sins. We have to turn from our old ways, and follow Christ. We are new creatures, old things are passed away. When we are born again, it feels like a big burden has been taken off our shoulders. Jesus gives us great joy, and we don't need things of this world to give us happiness any more. He gives us great peace. A Christian can have a very close relationship with Jesus. You can talk to him about things, and He will listen to you. He speaks to us through the Holy Spirit.

If you are reading this today, and you are not saved, and you have come to your wits end, and you feel that something is missing in your life, accept the plan of salvation right now. Now is the time. Don't wait till tomorrow, because there may not be another chance. We never know when it's our time to die. Eternity is forever, and once you go into eternity, you don't get a second chance. Jesus is calling you, and he is knocking on your door. Why don't you open the door, and let him in? The Bible says if we knock, the door shall be opened. Please accept this invitation for salvation today. Jesus is waiting with loving, open arms for you!

Pray right now, wherever you are, and whatever you are doing. Just make a simple prayer, and talk to God -tell Him what's on your mind. Tell him that you are sorry for your sins, and you want to accept Him as your savior. Tell Him that you are tired of serving yourself, and you want to serve Jesus Christ, and you want to go to heaven when you die. God will hear your prayers, because He loves you with unconditional love. God's love has no conditions to it. No matter what you have done in your life, God will hear you and forgive you. Let him into your soul, and let Him change you!

If you have done this, the best thing you can do is to start reading the Bible every day, starting with the book of John. Pray and talk to God often. He loves to hear from you. The Bible is the Christians road map. It teaches him how to live, and how to be humble. It is very important to get involved in a local assembly, and attend church every time the doors are open. We all need to hear the word of God being preached. Let Jesus into your life today!!!
