It's Not

It's not the story of Adam and Eve,

nor the wonderful story of Noah and the flood.

It's not the story of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,

nor the story of Joseph.

It's not the wars of Joshua,

nor the steps of Moses.

It's not even the life of David,

nor the wisdom of Solomon.

It's not the prophet Isaiah,

nor the whirlwind of Elijah.

It's not Daniel in the lions den,

nor Malachi at the end.

It is Christ Jesus alone,

and that's the life, the cross and the love.

It is the resurrection that's the fact,

and it is the blood of Christ that atones.

When we are dead in Christ

we will never be alone.
