2 Corinthians 10:3-6 For though we walk in the
flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the
pulling down of strong holds)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into
captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to
revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
1. Strongholds are any area of a person's life where God's word has not an abiding place. Jesus said in John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you. Strongholds may leave many Christians with unanswered prayers.2. Strongholds cause faithlessness, rebellion, and demon control. The person infected by strongholds does not attend Church more than once a week, or less. They are always poor givers of their time and finances. They have hard hearts, which make them poor listeners when the Word of God is being preached. They live continually in total disobedience to God's word.
It is written in Proverbs 5:12-14 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; and have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me! I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.3. Strongholds keep a person from living a obedient life in Christ, and to the Word of God. Therefore they live controlled by the unseen godless force of the kingdom of darkness. They move about, helping satan's kingdom to resist the kingdom of God. They are under the influence of demonic control, sacrificing obedience which is replaced by rebellion and stubbornness; which is always against the local Church which they sometimes attend.
1 Samuel 15:22b-23a Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.4. Strongholds are hiding places for worldly ideas and worldly actions, for the imagination can work over time thinking of ways of getting out of going to Church. Example: "I will get a job where I have to work on a Sunday or may be even a Saturday evening just so I don't have to go to Church", and "I will always have one or two thoughts within my mind so I can answer correctly when anyone may challenge my well thought out provisions that keep me out of Church".
5. Let us not forget that strongholds are coming from a supernatural devilish angle to cause division within your home. The strongholds will make you seem like you are the bad guy after the person that is living in strongholds says "Didn't you want me to go to work?" Like a dummy, because of the unseen forces at work you may even agree; as you may now start down the road of being under the influence of the demonic system of strongholds.
6. Strongholds keep out all unconditional love, so that that person will only live in the unfaithful feelings and emotions easily wounded by the truth of God, which demands that one is to honour the word and the local Pastor teacher by listening to the Word when being preached.
7. Strongholds are always cast down by the simple acts of obedience. When one starts agreeing with what the Word of God says, such as
James 4:7-8a Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you and strongholds will have to flee.
If you have never asked Christ Jesus into your heart, why not now? Ask Christ Jesus to make his abode in you today. Ask Him to forgive you of all your sins today. Ask Christ Jesus to fill you with the Holy Spirit this very day. Become a born again Christian today. Please do not wait, for we never know what another day will bring. He loves you with an everlasting love and is drawing you with lovingkindness.
