Crucify Him
Daily Devotional for April

Luke 23:21 "But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him (to the cross with him)."
The crowd wanted the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. The hate was in the air two thousand years ago. By the way, the same hate is still there. There are still many a man called Pilate today. They run with the crowd in unbelief saying, "Get away from me thou Christian - you remind me of my sins". "You say I need a Saviour". "You have nerve enough to say all have sinned" Romans 3:23. Mankind still hates these very words today. Mankind will go out of it's way to say man has a disease, not sin. Why? Because mankind does not want to admit to the truth that the Holy Bible is true; all have sinned.
I have heard it preached that the Lord Jesus Christ received five different kinds of wounds during and after His death. You will find these wounds in the book of John 19:1,2,3,18,34. They not only wounded Him, they spit in His face also in Matthew 26:67.
Hate has no responsibility, living in a world of iniquity all of it's own. God sent His Son to save the lost, not to hate the lost. Jesus Christ loves mankind because He could say during His death upon the cross Luke 23:34, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do". What beauty! What love is in that statement!
Jesus Christ saved mankind, not condemned it. His love was showing through all the hate mankind could do to Him. To forgive is the most precious thing one can do.
Jesus loves you. Come to him now. His hands reach down to save a hater of God like you and me.
Lord Jesus, touch the one in need today.
