Peace in God
Daily Devotional for April 5

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

How many households in America need peace? How many unmarried people need peace? How many sick people need peace? How many poor or rich people need peace? Are you getting the idea yet? Mankind without Christ Jesus is as the waves of the sea; tossed about daily, to and fro. Have you ever heard one say, "What I would give for a peaceful night of sleep"?

Psalm 127:2 "It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so He giveth his beloved sleep."

The work of the devil is to tear apart one's life so there is no peace. The devil loves to overwhelm one with the details of life. The devil knows that mankind is a natural worrier. Mankind will worry when things are going right. It will say, "Something bad is just around the corner". "I just know it".

Christ Jesus was crucified, died, buried, and rose again so that He can have residence within a finished work believer. The finished work believer lives in total confidence in what the Holy Bible says. John 17:4b says, "I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do", but the believer that has not learned the finished work will still live just like mankind; without the peace that is given by our Lord.

Peace is a gift given to all that believe in Christ Jesus. Are you one of His, or do you choose to follow mankind which has no peace that lasts?

Peace is paid for at the cross.
