Does Christ dwell in you richly?
Daily Devotional for August 1

Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord"

Do you pay attention when the Word of God is being preached, or are you in the flesh, only willing to listen to what may please you?

Having raised children, we have learned that each one hears what the parents have to say quite differently.

The wisdom of Christ Jesus teaches us how to listen when the word is being preached. We need only to ask the indwelling Holy Spirit to anoint our ears to hear the living word. When we have learned how to listen when God's word is being preached, we will have no trouble receiving our daily bread.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when you received the word of God which you heard of us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."

The more we learn doctrine the more we find that we know so little.

Ask each morning for the Lord's wisdom, for we know not what a day will bring. Ask to be filled and overflowing in the Spirit so that you may be able to withstand the attacks of the demon forces of that day. Stay seated in heavenly places with the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will have grace in your heart.
