Are you a Talker?
Daily Devotional for August 8

Ecclesiastes 5:2 "Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few."

There seems to be much idle talk upon this earth. Mankind talks about the environment for hours. He studies all of it's problems; by the way, man has caused all the problems with greed.

Mankind talks for hours about his or her job. Mankind talks at length about his family. Mankind even talks about the weather.

The one thing mankind has too much of is wasted words. They talk and talk about the things they like: hunting, fishing, movies, and the list goes on.

Mankind thinks nothing of judging others. They will discuss other people for hours. The one place words are few is talking to God Almighty. The fact of the matter is that mankind treats God Almighty with insulting silence.

Mankind will not read the holy Bible nor will it pray, because the natural man is not interested in the things of God.

Hopefully the Christian has not become as mankind has with insulting silence. Christ Jesus words should be abiding in the Christian, and prayer should be as natural as breathing.

The unsaved will always have plenty of words to utter, because they can not be biblical. "Therefore let thy words be few".
