What are you cleaving to?
Daily Devotional for August 24

Psalm 119:25 "My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word."

The more one thinks about themself, the less one will seek after God.

Are you married to the dust god Barkas? The dust is the place of the afflicted, the wounded, and the dead. Are you one of the above, living in the dust of negativity? Thinking only how bad things are in your life. Are you cleaving to all that is past, feeding on your own hurt?

Is the dust god your partner in life? Are you married to drug addiction, or lust addiction, or money addiction, or some other kind of addiction? You see, the prince of this world John 14:30 has sent one of his local demons to yoke up with you.

When cleaving to the dust, our life is boring. All things become the same, day after day. This is why the married seek after an affair. This is why the thief seeks after stolen money. This is why people go mad; because they feel they have nothing to live for.

What a lie!

There is so much life in Christ Jesus. Each day is filled with excitement.
Psalm 62:5 "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him."

The born-again Christian is quickened by the Lord of life
John 6:63 "It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

Happy is the saint that is filled with the Holy Spirit. Thankful is the saint that meditates on the Lord daily. The saint is being quickened each moment of the day in their thought life.
Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any praise, think on these things."
