Abide in love
Daily Devotional for August 30

1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

Agape love is the divine love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Human love can be crossed, but divine love will wait until one gets right.

Human love may last thirty years in a marriage, then one day say it has had it; and walk out. Divine love will increase in a marriage, being very thankful that God has given them thirty years together to share the good times and the times of affliction together.

Human love is a fair weather friend, but when storms come, human love takes a vacation; for it just has to get away from the situation. Christ Jesus love is freely given. All we have to do is receive it with all it's splendor.

The trouble with mankind is that they do not receive divine love, because divine love has a moral code that is far above human love. Christ Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Human love in mankind will say as they deceive themselves, "That's only art" as they look upon a woman with the eyes of lust.

Divine love prays for their neighbor. Divine love thinks on whatsoever is good. Divine love believes every word of God, and lives by every word of God. Divine love shares the gospel with others, because divine love changes lives forever.
