Correction
SonLight Daily DevotionalDaily Devotional for December 5
from the desk of Pastor Curt McComis

Job 5:17 "Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty"

There are many Christians that think it strange when God puts the pressure on them because of the way they are living, or the way they are thinking and speaking.

It is God's responsibility to correct His children, just like it's our responsibility to correct our children.

God has many ways in which He will correct us when we go astray. Grace, mercy and love is the method that God uses to correct us.

The sadness that a Christian may feel may be one of the ways God is showing them that they have broken fellowship with Him.

The sense of loneliness may be another way that God is trying to get our attention that we have gone astray and broken fellowship with Him.

Defending yourself in all situations may still another way God is showing us that our fellowship is broken with Him.

God does not hit us over the head with a two by four, but gently guides us into repentance. His way of correction is always leading one back to the light of life in Christ Jesus.

If you are truly walking in the Spirit, you will not rebel at God's correction process, but will be happy knowing that you have a loving Father that cares deeply for you personally.

Please do not fight God when He is trying to correct you.

Isaiah 53:6a "All we like sheep have gone astray."
