Hearing brings life
Daily Devotional for December 20

Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

People may go to Church every Sunday morning and still not be saved from the fires of hell. Their attitude is not one that is humble; therefore they walk away empty, because they have ears that hear not.

The ones that go to Church on Sunday morning without hearing ears will become the ones that live the life of a talebearer of falsehoods. They are not gatherers, but scatterers; hurting the work of God in that body of Christ.

The person that goes to Church with the right attitude will hear the word of God with gladness. They will be likeminded, living in unity in the body of Christ. They will be helpers in carrying out the word of God to the lost.

Do you love to hear the word of God? Or are you one that is bored by the word of God. Our Lord said in Luke 8:18a, "Take heed therefore how you hear".

The second you become familiar with the word of God, or think you know more than the preacher, is the second satan can use you for the kingdom of darkness. You no longer listen with gladness to the word of God, but you become rebellious to all that is being preached. The glorious gospel has become neutralized by the spirit of pride, causing one to go backwards. Your faith has become temporal, leaving you to live in the spirit of despair.

One who comes with childlike faith will not have this kind of problem, but will be glad when they come into the house of the Lord.
