The Lord's Mercies
Daily Devotional for

Lamentations 3:22-23 "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
Yesterday we may have failed, or maybe this morning we were as mean as a bear. The Lord's mercies are new right now. Mercy covers the effects of sin. "Mercy endureth forever" Psalm 136. King David says "mercy shall follow all the days of my life" in Psalm 23:6. Mercy means kindness shown by God to man. Man should show mercy to man.
Have we shown mercy in our marriages? Do we treat our wife with great respect? Do we tell her how much we love her? Have we kissed her today, and held her hand? Do we thank God for the beautiful wife He has given us? That's God's mercy working in our lives.
There should not be one bitter thought towards our wife, because bitter thoughts have no mercy. Satan is the father to all bitter thoughts for he has no mercy, and he shows no mercy. "Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful" Luke 6:36. Mercy is given, mercy shall return.
If you have no mercy, turn to Christ Jesus. Ask Him to come in your heart. Ask Him to be your Saviour and you will learn mercy. Mercy will become part of your life.
