Emptiness
Daily Devotional for February 6

James 1:8 "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."

"Unstable in all his (or her) ways" will lead to emptiness of soul. While serving our Lord and Saviour do we ever feel empty? Do we feel burdened down to carry out the simplest chore such as prayer? Has emptiness overwhelmed us to a point of despair? Do we feel like quitting because emptiness has suddenly overtaken us? Are we tossed to and fro as in Ephesians 4:14? Emptiness - does it seem so real that you can cut it with a knife?

• One of the tricks of emptiness is to come in after a great adventure with the Lord.
• Another trick of emptiness is to come in after God Almighty has answered a much needed prayer request.
• Emptiness leads one to have a double soul; a double mind. The double souled person is very unstable. They live in a continual state of doubt. They change their mind every minute or so. They are left with a strange feeling of emptiness.
• The spirit of emptiness leads the believer to think he or she is not worthy. They stop living in the finished work of Jesus Christ. They now walk by sight.
• The spirit of emptiness is not going to announce to us that it has arrived. Like all other lying spirits it will wait until you get down, trying to add to your deception.

Turn to Christ Jesus. He can fill up all emptiness.
