God is not Mocked
Daily Devotional for February 12

Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

The word "mock" means to turn up your nose, to ridicule, to ignore. Too many people ignore the word of God. They try to love without commitment. God honors marriage. Love without commitment mocks marriage.

Many people think "living together" is a commitment. They teach their children, if they have any, to mock God, to mock love, to mock the values of a true family. The movies show love without commitment, teaching the children to mock God. People that live together ignore the word of God and never teach their children the truth.

The family consists of Mom and Dad married taking vows "to death do us part". Love with commitment. To God to be one flesh. The mockers cannot be one flesh for they are sowing division. Some day they will reap division. The child will say, "Why have you two different names if you are married? John's Mom and Dad have the same last name". This is when the lies begin - you start mocking marriage. What do you think you are saying to the child you say you love so much?

Be not deceived, sin has found you out. Marriage is beautiful and fulfilling. Every day is a gift from God, to enjoy each other, to love each other, to honor each other. To hug and kiss each other. Sowing seeds of life together with commitment. Teaching our children that marriage is a gift from God.
