Crown of Life
Daily Devotional for
February 20

James 1:12 "Blessed is the man that endureth
temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which
the Lord hath promised to them that love Him."
Don't we often wonder, when trials come? We sometimes try to figure out,
why? Sometimes we are much overwhelmed by the trials.
The simple fact is to rest in God's love during a trial. Zephaniah
3:17 says, "The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save,
he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy
over thee with singing."
Trials are never meant to cause people to become bitter and
critical, because when they do they will not draw close to God. They will
look for help from others. The love of God will not be shed abroad in their
hearts. They will not come to Christ Jesus for comfort. They will stop
living in the love of God.
2 Corinthians 5:10 "For we must all appear before
the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in
his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."
The reward is given at the Bema seat of Christ in 2 Corinthians
5:10 to all that "love the Lord with all thine heart, mind and soul".
They grow sweeter during trials.
They thank God for the trials.
They keep looking to the author and finisher of our faith
in the trials.
They draw straight from the word of God.
They don't stop going to church, but on the other hand
they go all the more.
They know to be hid in Christ in the body. They will draw
straight from others in the body, for they have seen others going through
trials praising God and giving Him all the glory.
Trust in the Lord during trials, and your light shall shine among men and
women.
