A Tree
Pastor's
Thoughts for February 2003

Exodus 15:23-25 "And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD showed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them"
A Tree
Without the Cross of Christ there would have been no remedy for the effects of
sin. Mankind would still be walking dead in their sin without any hope.
A Tree
Without the Cross of Christ actively working in one's life, bitterness will be
the controlling interest. The "bitter critter" has no water of love fit to drink
or fit for growth.
A Tree
Without the Cross of Christ, grace and mercy are absent from a person's life.
This leaves them living in a vacuum, sucking up all of satan's negativity which
produces bitter waters for many bitter years.
A Tree
Without the Cross of Christ, Christmas time is full of Santa Claus, sex, drugs,
booze; all of which have only one outcome: bitterness and leanness of soul.
A Tree
A life that loves the Cross of Christ is full of hope, knowing each day is a
gift from God to enjoy. Joy is added to joy as they drink freely the water that
sweetens the days. Christ Jesus is that water.
A Tree
Christ Jesus took upon the Cross the sins of bitterness and frustration. He is
the sweetener that adds love and grace to the believer's heart and soul,
producing a life of faith and victory.
A Tree
The Cross of Christ has the power to erase all the effects of the greatest
disappointments in one's life. Bad health, bad marriages, bad finances, bad
children; for the blood of Christ has the eternal sweetness that redeems the
hardest stains into the whitest garments of praise and joy from everlasting to
everlasting.
The cross has been provided.
The way has been made clear.
All we have to do is walk in it.
