Draw Nigh to God
Daily Devotional for January 29

James 4:8 "Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you."

This is one of God's many promises. The fact is there are over 5,500 promises in the word of God. All of God's promises are for today.

Romans 4:21 "And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform."

We draw nigh to God in prayer. This is personal time with Him. When we read and study His word we are drawing nigh to Him. We listen to the Pastor/Teacher when the word is being preached. This is drawing nigh to God.

Our Lord wants a close and personal relationship with us. The trouble is, many times we live in the flesh breaking fellowship with Him. We withdraw into self, opening the door for satan to accuse us of failure. The liar tries to convince us that God does not really care. He tries to make us think negative thoughts that cause us to doubt, so we will draw back. If we draw back, God will feel a 1,000 miles away. God is always drawing us with loving kindness and His thoughts towards us are always peace.

Cleave to Him, find out for yourself that His love is real. Ask Christ Jesus into your heart to be your Saviour. Draw nigh and He promises to draw nigh to you.
