The Last First
Daily Devotional for January 30

Mark 10:31 "But many that are first shall be last; and the last first."

When my children were growing, they had to take the school bus each morning. There was one family that took the bus each morning that just had to be the first on the school bus. This is just a natural thing.

These children would always torment our children. They would laugh them to scorn. This went on the whole year. My children would try to leave early to get the bus, but guess what - there would always be one of the other children standing first. The mocking became intense even from their parents.

The last day of the school year the children that made it a point to be first stood in line mocking, last day, ha ha ha! The school bus pulled up. The bus driver said to the children in line first, "Not today. The last shall be first." Our children just smiled and went on the bus first that day.

The world may laugh and mock at you but God has already put you first. First in thought. First in deed. First in love. There are no seconds in heaven. Believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.
