Put on the new man
Pastor's
Thoughts
for January 2006
![]()
The old year is passing away with all it's blessings and all it's joys. God has been faithful in all our situations. This year we have learned Christ Jesus. The love is richer and the joy is stronger as we have grown in Christ Jesus. We are still learning not to strive for the things of this world, for we now look unto Jesus for all our happiness, all our strength.
The resurrection power of Christ leads us from all of the temptations of the devil and this world.
Each day is a gift from God so that we are learning not to get entangled with the things of this world. All the things of this world will pass away. We know that Christ Jesus words will never pass away, for they are Spirit and they are life.
This passing year we have grown closer to our Lord Christ Jesus in every way, for we have been living in our new creation. We throw off the idea that things, no matter what they are, in this world may keep us from the course that has been set before us as walk each day in Christ Jesus.
Amos 3:3 "Can two walk together, except they be agreed"
What does Christ have to do with baal? They have no communion. We are either serving our Lord more this passing year, or we are serving baal more. We here at The Bible Speaks Community Church in Millport, NY have served the Lord with gladness.
We have learned not to justify worldy things this year. We have learned to know Christ Jesus first, second, third. He is the Alpha and the Omega. The resurrection and the life. We do not want to be caught up with the things of this world which are passing away.
We are in our new creation, learning first how important coming to Church each time the doors are open; Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening, for we need our spiritual food above all the world's dainties.
Hopefully this is what we have learned in this year that is passing away.
love always in Christ Jesus,
Pastor Curt
"May this message help feed Christ Jesus' sheep"
Ephesians 4:23-32 "And be renewed in
the spirit of your mind;
And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and
true holiness.
Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we
are members one of another.
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give
place to the devil.
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his
hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of you mouth, but that which is good to
the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of
redemption.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put
away from you, with all malice:
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God
for Christ's sake has forgiven you."
