Sin breaks fellowship with the Lord
Pastor's Thoughts for January 2004

Romans 6:13-14 "Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."

Sin breaks fellowship with our Lord; leading one away from the cross so that one will not, nor can not deny themselves. This breaks the union with Christ Jesus which always starts the spirit of doubt.
Doubt leaves a void in oneself; this void has to be filled with some kind of activity.

An empty soul will be used by the satanic forces to blind the spiritual eyes of that person's understanding. Once sin has taken root in one's soul and spirit it becomes easy for the devil to lead that person down the broad road of destruction. They will always take the natural route of least resistance as they steadily become a servant to the sins they have grown accustomed to.

Until God's mighty power breaks the chains of sin, the natural man or woman will think, act and talk like the world system, blaming all that happens on to others.

The sins that have taken hold will always be thought in the light of "It's not so bad", or "Others are a whole lot worse than me". Sin always deceives the heart into thinking that they have done no wrong, so therefore there is no need of repentance for something that there is nothing wrong with.

This person can travel down the broad road of destruction for many years not knowing that they are living in the pigpen of sin, serving the will of the devil.

They say they are Christians but all the while they are serving the plans of the devil as they continue in the commonplace sins if the world. Their ears are shut, their eyes are closed, their heart is hard and their thoughts are worldly. Sin is their life style.

If they die in their sins,
Isaiah 14:9 "Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming"

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Live in the gift of life Christ Jesus, and sin will not rule over you any more. You will grow in all the graces of our Lord.

Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

This love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance will be the road you travel now as you are always looking unto the Author and Finisher of our faith: Christ Jesus our Lord.
