Revelation 2:4 "Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love."

The church at Ephesus did many fine works; they were counting on their labor, but they had walked away from their first love Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit was warning the church to return to their first love Christ Jesus.

Many times a Christian gets so involved with other things, good or bad, that they forget all about Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:18 "And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence."

Our Lord wants to be first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and so on, in each believer's life. He wants us to look unto Him, for He is truly the Author and Finisher of our faith.

The Christian that has Christ Jesus first in their lives is continually being filled with the Holy Spirit. They are continually being led of the Holy Spirit; they are focused on the resurrection power of Christ Jesus. They have a song in their heart, praising the Lord all day long. They live by every word of God in Matthew 4:4. They love the Lord with all their heart, soul and mind. They hear the Word of God and mix with faith all that they have heard.

Are you still in love with the Lord Christ Jesus as much as the first day you accepted Him to be your personal Lord, and Saviour?
