Are we worn out?
SonLightPastor's Thoughts for July 2001
from the desk of Pastor Curt McComis

John 10:10a "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy"

Over a period of time Satan has learned by experience how to steal from a Christian's joy. He does it by wearing out the saints.

Daniel 7:25a "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High"

Satan's attacks are on the home, and the children that you are raising up in Christianity. He makes the children to look at the parent's weakness and causes the children to judge their parents. When this kind of warfare goes undetected in our homes, the parents get worn out from the battle their children put them through.

Satan is behind this kind of action, for he knows it works. The home front is no longer a place of rest, but a war zone, for things just keep happening. The next thing you know, your children are now wanting to leave the home, and head for the worldly pig pen. They live as though they were raised up as non-believers. They hate, they talk, they act, they go with the flow of worldliness: drugs, alcohol; and sex.

Satan then comes to the parents as the accuser: "You failure! Just look at how those children are acting and living". Most parents at this time are murmuring instead of quoting scripture.

Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

If you truly want victory from day to day, just live in Christ Jesus; for then you will be seated in heavenly places. No matter how hot the battle gets, you have a hiding place that is in Christ Jesus as you are hid in God.

Colossians 3:3 "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."

Draw your strength as you stand in grace, for you are truly more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

Romans 8:37 "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."

Remember, love beareth all things. Walk in love, for Christ Jesus is with you in this situation and you are in this situation to trust Him. So just keep looking unto the Author and Finisher of our faith Christ Jesus, for He is truly the problem solver.

Bible References (KJV)

John 10:1-10: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto the.

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
