Daily Devotional for June 1

2 Corinthians 4:15 "For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God."

We can rehearse over and over again in our minds "All things are for your sakes". We can meditate on this verse and agree with the Lord until some thing happens that throws us for a loop.

When the doctor said to me, "You have cancer, and need an operation right away", the fear was great. The day after the operation the doctor did not tell me good news.  The amount of Biblical doctrine I knew at that time was zero. Now I can see "All things are for your sakes".

The years have passed by, and many times I have had the privilege of praying for others that have cancer. Compassion for all that are suffering with this disease has grown over the year also. Once one has been there and knows the hurt and uncertainty that goes with this disease, they can pray with experiential knowledge.

Verses that may help a lot in the Bible are all the verses on God's healing, God's love, God's grace, then mixing all that you have read and internalized with faith in our Lord Christ Jesus.

The troubled heart is in need of peace. The broken heart is in need of hope. The wayward heart is in need of forgiveness. The lonely heart is in need of fellowship. The unsaved heart is in need of Christ Jesus our Lord. The sick heart is in need of healing.

Christ Jesus is good medicine; for the Heart Doctor Jesus knows what we need in our heart.
