Forgiven
Daily Devotional for June 12

Matthew 6:14-15 "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Our Lord has made it quite plain that the born again Christian is to forgive others. The truly great Christian will not remember the sin of another, because he or she has cast that problem on to the Lord. They do not mull it over and over again in their mind, but think only on how much the Lord has forgiven them. They can still remember that if it was not for God's total forgiveness, he or she would have gone to hell. Therefore they want to think as God thinks when it comes to forgiveness.

Ephesians 4:32 "And be you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

Forgiveness will keep one's heart tender. Judging will do just the opposite; harden one's heart. The saddest thing is to see a Christian turn away from a loving God because something did not go their way.

Do you remember the day Christ Jesus came into your heart and washed away all of your sins by His precious blood? The guilt of sin was removed, and replaced with the total spirit of forgiveness. Oh, how happy you were that day! This is how our Lord wants us to live toward others; in a spirit of forgiveness. Be filled with the Holy Spirit, and forgiveness will be part of your Christian life continually.
