One thing thou lackest

1 Chronicles 16:23-36 "Sing
unto the LORD, all the earth; show forth from day to day his salvation.
Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvelous works among all nations.
For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above
all gods.
For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.
Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.
Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and
strength.
Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come
before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not
moved.
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the
nations, The LORD reigneth.
Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all
that is therein.
Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because
he cometh to judge the earth.
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth forever.
And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver
us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy
praise.
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever.
And all the people said,
Amen, and praised the LORD"
Some Christians lack total commitment to
Christ Jesus. They are saved, on their way to heaven, but do not draw nigh to
the Lord. They are bounced around by spiritual warfare because of one thing they
lack: total surrender to Christ Jesus.
Their life is full of more downs than
ups. They don't study as they should. Their minds wander when the word of God is
being preached. They are half way committed to the local Church which is the
body of Christ.
They never totally deny themselves so after long periods of time
they feel and seem to be in the place they first stared having little faith with
few victories over the sinful nature.
Other Christians lack obedience to God's
holy word. They believe but don't enjoy the fellowship with their Saviour as
they ought. They live by opinions instead of every word of God. This life style
causes them to be moody.
They like to be around other Christians until that word
"obedience" is spoken of. This causes them to withdraw into self. Then their
feelings and emotions start up. The next thing you know they put on their so
called spiritual fig leaves singing "I never have been so close to God as I am
today".
The Christian that comes and learns of Jesus
Christ may lack many things, but they are growing in the grace and knowledge of
Christ Jesus. They are putting their trust in Him daily. They are taking up their
cross and denying themselves daily.
They are at Church as much as possible. They
are one with the local pastor teacher.
They love God with all their hearts.
They
are one with the wife when possible. They are always looking for souls to share
Christ Jesus with. They love to hear the word of God. They are learning to walk
by faith and not by sight.
There is a song in their heart.
They take time to meditate on God's holy word. Praying is part of their life.
love in Christ,
