Do we Truly Receive?

John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name"

The key word is receive. Acts 2:38b says, "You shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit".
John 20:22b says, "Receive you the Holy Spirit".

There are two classes of people in church on Sunday morning. One has ears to hear, and receives. The other has ears without hearing. They go away empty.

Receiving grace, mercy, love, truth and forgiveness, or ears that receive rebellion, disdain, bitterness and stiffneckedness.
Receiving the word with gladness, or receiving projections of evil from the kingdom of darkness.
Receiving the filling of the Holy Spirit daily with victory, or receiving the lies of defeat when you first open your eyes.
Receiving a sweet oneness in the Body of Christ Jesus, or receiving the stench of division.
Receiving gold, silver, and precious stones, or receiving wood, hay and stubble which is burnt up with fire.
Receiving a crown of righteousness, or receiving the eternity of torment and suffering.
Receiving the words of Christ Jesus "Job well done thou good and faithful servant", or receiving the words of Christ Jesus "Depart from me thou wicked servant that is a worker of iniquity".

The picture is painted, and the canvas is dry.
Come to the Lord Jesus Christ and you will know why.
