Ask, Seek, Knock
SonLight Daily DevotionalDaily Devotional for March 13
from the desk of Pastor Curt McComis

Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened".

Keep on asking, keep on seeking and keep on knocking until your answer comes. Simple thing to say, but waiting is very hard to do. We do not like to wait for things to come to pass. We live in a world that wants all things instantly if not sooner. Christians pray in the morning for something or someone. They expect the answer by 8:05AM. Many times this prayer will not be answered like that.

Time is the greatest teacher. Abraham had to wait thirteen years for the promise of God concerning his son. Many times a mother prays and prays for their wayward son or daughter. Mothers do not give up; they go to God day after day asking, seeking, knocking in the behalf of their children.

Asking, seeking, knocking may take time. Time to teach us patience; time to teach us faith; time to teach us grace; time to teach us to pray. God sees prayers in heaven in golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints in Revelation 5:8. God Almighty takes the time to hear your prayers and place them in golden vials. Christ Jesus is ever living to make intercession for the saints. The Holy Spirit is helping us to build ourselves up in the faith in Jude 1:20.

Keep on asking, keep on seeking, keep on knocking. This year doors will be opened unto you that have been closed for years. Believest thou this?

John 11:25-26 "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
