The Gift
Daily Devotional for March 17

Romans 11:29 "For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance".

Salvation is the greatest gift God has given to mankind. Ephesians 2:8 says, "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God".

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

The sweetest gift. The "whosoever" in this verse is mankind. God has given mankind a gift. To receive the gift or not is up to mankind. The gift of eternal life was bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. Christ Jesus finished the work so that we can receive the gift of salvation by asking Christ Jesus to forgive us of all our sins.

The natural man cannot know the gift of salvation. No matter how hard he tries. No matter how many good works he does, or she does. Salvation is not a works program. It is a gift from God. There is great joy in the gift of salvation knowing all of our sins are forgiven, forgotten, and remembered no more. Our thinking and our speech has changed. We no longer walk in darkness, but now we walk in His marvelous light receiving the gift of grace, the gift of love, the gift of mercy, the gift of hope, and the gift of peace. Christ Jesus becomes our life and breath, leading us down the path of victory.

The gift of salvation in all it's beauty and splendor is ours for the asking. You can ask Him like this; "Jesus, come into my life. I receive you as my personal Saviour. Thank you for your eternal gift".
