Is your heart overwhelmed?

John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me."
"Let not your heart be troubled" is a continuous command from our Lord. The Lord is saying, Simply do not even start letting satan cause you to be upset. When one is upset they tend to say and do things they ought not. Satan loves it when one is troubled because he can get their mind on other things. Satan knows that we can be forgetful hearers. He counts on us to focus on the thing that is troubling us. Our Lord says to focus on the author and finisher of our faith in Hebrews 12:2.
If we only look on our troubles, believe me; they will have a way of multiplying. Troubles with our children, troubles with our finances, troubles with our health, troubles with friendships, troubles at work; by days end we are ready to throw in the towel. Satan says, let me find you some more troubles when you go home tonight. The spouse will be mad at you because you forgot to bring home the milk. Then your spouse says the dog is sick. That's a lot of troubles just in one day.
Look unto Jesus. Take time to meditate on His words of life instead of troubles with a capital T. Troubles will be with a small t as the result. When you cast all of your cares upon Him, finding out many answers to your troubles; life will become sweeter, and kinder. The frowns will be replaced with smiles. Your attitude will be "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" in Philippians 4:13 Troubles may not vanish, but we have a friend that sticks closer than a brother in Proverbs 18:24. That friend is Christ Jesus.
