1 John 2:16 "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

Have you watched television lately? Even the commercials should be turned off! When I was young a long, long time ago you never saw a bra commercial or a men's underwear commercial. That type of commercial would have been banned. The lust of the flesh now is to use these commercials. Teenagers still have libido waves.

Walking into the giant, new Super Market how does all the merchandise look? The smell of the fresh bread, or the barbecue chicken; does this tempt you to buy more? The lust of the eyes starts working the minute you walk into the market and you will pick up more than you need.

Ezekiel 28:17a says, "Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty". Pride is the source that is against all that is holy. Pride keeps one from believing in the Lord. Pride keeps one from going to church on a Sunday. Pride is the one that says, "Church is full of hypocrites". Pride is the one that says "I can do it by myself; I am totally dependent upon myself".

Satan fell from heaven because iniquity was found in his heart. The iniquity of pride goes against the plan of God, the provision of God, the purpose of God. The pride of life goes as far as it can to keep one away from the love of God. Pride says "I do not need God". This is the lie satan has sold to mankind over the many centuries. Pride has cast many a man's soul into a lost eternity forever.

Ask Christ Jesus in your heart and break the rod of pride.
