Come unto Me
Daily Devotional for May 9

Matthew 11:28-30 "Come unto Me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; For I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light."

Our Lord said "Come", but the natural man says, "I will not". The difference between the saved and the unsaved is that the saved will come and sit at the Master's feet, while the unsaved will sit at the local barroom for rest. The unsaved will not submit his or her life to the Word of God. They do not like to hear "Jesus loves you, Jesus died for your sins".

The unsaved have taken satan's plan to discredit the Bible's stand on sin by saying they have mental defects leading them into various kinds of diseases. Satan has trapped the unsaved into thinking mankind has the answers to life. The unsaved are always looking and trying to find peace, but just when they think that they have found peace something happens to put them right back in the state of confusion.

Christ Jesus says "Come to Me and I will give you peace", for within peace there is great rest for the soul. Cast all of your burdens upon the Lord. He will take them, for He cares for you.

If you are heavy laden with some kind of sickness, come to Jesus and share with Him how you feel. Psalm 41:3 says "The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of sickness: Thou wilt restore all his bed in his sickness". The saved person knows where to turn to find comfort in the time of trouble.

Come to Jesus today. Rest yourselves at the foot of the Cross. Jesus loves you.
