Lovingkindness
Daily Devotional for May 10

Jeremiah 31:3 "The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yes, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

Sweetly and tenderly our Lord is drawing us with His everlasting lovingkindness. This lovingkindness is so gentle that it wipes away all our tears of despair. This lovingkindness went to the cross to redeem us from all of our sins. Lovingkindness has placed us in heavenly places far above all our troubles.

His lovingkindness walks with us through sickness and health. His lovingkindness should be the center of all marriages. For lovingkindness is what holds a marriage together over the space of time. If our eyes are upon Him, lovingkindness will be our attitude towards all others. We will want to give a helping hand to others. We will pray for our children, because lovingkindness compels us to do so.

Lovingkindness will motivate us at the workplace to do the best job that we can do. Colossians 3:23 tells us "And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men".

John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world". That is the sum total of God's lovingkindness toward mankind. He sent His lovingkindness by the way of His only begotten son Christ Jesus. Lovingkindness is still changing people in this world today. Lovingkindness reaches out to all: the worst sinner, to the nice person at the top of the world. He is faithfully drawing us with all of his lovingkindness to a deeper walk with Him.

May God Almighty give us the wisdom needed to grasp the magnitude of His lovingkindness. The depth of the riches of His lovingkindness is just a prayer away.
