Are you seeking Christ?
Daily Devotional for May 11

Colossians 3:1-3 "If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."

The athlete spends many hours of practicing the sport of their choice. The ice skater spends eight to ten hours practicing every day to become a great star. They think nothing of the time spent skating so that they may win an Olympic gold medal. If they read the Holy Word of God, and went to church and prayed that much, mankind would call them fanatics. Mankind would say all kinds of negative statements against that person; but a gold medal winner would only be praised by them.

The only thing you can take to heaven is other lost souls you shared Christ Jesus with. You will not take fame, fortune, or beauty to heaven. That all turns to dust upon the earth. The amount of time mankind spends trying to find himself is tremendous. The Book says we have to die to self in order to find ourselves.

Romans 6:4 says, "Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life". Mankind seeks those things that fade; the Christian seeks the everlasting life in Christ Jesus.

What are you seeking today? God has given mankind a choice each day; a blessing or a curse. Hopefully you are choosing eternal life today.
