Proverbs 26:20 "Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth."

Proverbs 26:22 "The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly."

A talebearer is one that loves to gossip. They go about hurting the heart of God as they gossip about His sons or daughters. These gossipers may even as they are leaving the church bring up something against another before they reach their car. The talebearer works out of the kingdom of darkness. They are deceived by the god of this world; the devil. They think in Adam's nature, not even thinking they are doing anything wrong. The natural man lives in his fallen nature where gossip is part of his nature. He hears it at work all day long. He goes home; and there he hears gossip from his family members.

The talebearer loves to call up others to share their tidbits of destruction. They will say, "Did you hear this or that", as the motormouth spills out what they may have heard secondhand by some other talebearer.

Ecclesiastes 5:2b "For God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few."

The talebearer is never building others up, but just the opposite. They live for gossip because gossip makes the talebearer feel like they are somebody. They live in a complex of pride run by the devil.

Talebearing is sin! Christ Jesus can deliver you from this sin when you are willing to repent.

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
