Daily Devotional for May 31
1 Corinthians 13:7-8a "Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Love never faileth"
Love will not fail. It is the total character of God Almighty in 1 John 4:16. The Holy Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:13, "And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love". This divine love (Greek: agape) is placed into the believer's heart at the second of salvation. This love is grown in grace, mercy and peace as the believer learns biblical doctrine daily.
This love brings tears to our eyes when we think upon the cross of Christ Jesus. The beating our Lord endured. The spitting on His face. This is the Son of God being crucified for our sins. This is Love Divine. Christ Jesus did truly "endureth all things". His love for us and the whole world is beyond understanding. Words cannot express the love He has for us, as the nails were driven into His wrists and His blood came trickling down His arms. Then the nails into His ankles were pounded in an inch at a time.
Love hung upon the cross with words of Salvation, words of Forgiveness, and words that were said to His Father; "It is finished" John 19:30.
Love still heals the brokenhearted. Love will hold the hand of the sick. Love sits with the lonely. Love never faileth; no not ever, for it covers all eternity past and extends to all eternity future. Love believeth all things, beareth all things; for the price of sin is paid. Love hopeth all things because of it's eternal viewpoint.
