Psalm 19:13 "Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression."
Job's wife was living in the great
transgression when she said "curse God, and die".
Job 2:9 "Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine
integrity? curse God, and die"
Eve and Adam were living in the great
transgression when they took of the tree of good and evil.
Genesis 3:6 "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and
that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she
took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto he husband with her;
and he did eat."
King Solomon was living in the sin of the
great transgression when he married all those women.
Deuteronomy 17:17 "Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his
heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and
gold."
The Pharisees blasphemed the Holy Spirit in
Matthew 12:24. Their presumptuous sin was to say Jesus was Beelzebub the prince
of the demons.
Matthew 12:24 "But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow
doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils."
When we gossip and slander other believers, we are living in the sin of the great transgression by presuming something against that believer. We are also like the Pharisees, blaspheming the Holy Spirit that lives within that believer.
Love thinks no evil, but when a person lives in presumptuous sins their thinking is that there is no accountability for their actions. The truth of the matter is, we are all accountable for every word spoken outside of unconditional love. We are not to be destroyers, but builders up in the faith.
We all must pray that God will be in charge of our mouth, for this is where presumptuous sins come out.
King David asked, and so should we also ask God to keep us back from presumptuous sins; for we do not want to hurt the heart of God, do we?
