I know thy works
Daily Devotional for October 7

Revelation 3:15-17 "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of My mouth.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked"

Too many of the Churches worldwide are wretched, because to them soul-winning is an invasion into a person's life.
Proverbs 11:30b "he that winneth souls is wise."

It is sad to say too many Churches today are miserable, for gossip is their main subject.
Proverbs 18:8 "The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly."

Many Churches are poor, because their hearts are not right when they take communion.
1 Corinthians 11:29 "For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body."

Many Churches are blind, because they preach another gospel other than grace.
Galatians 1:6 "I marvel that you are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel"

Their nakedness is in self-righteousness.
Isaiah 64:6a "But we are all as an unclean thing, and our righteousnesses are as filthy rags"

Our Lord simply says, repent.

Our loving God is not afraid to say the truth, for He is always drawing us with lovingkindness.
