Oneness in Marriage
Daily Devotional for October 8

Genesis 2:23-25 "And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed."

A marriage is to be one. Not "his" and "hers", but "theirs". The husband should be glad to help around the home. There is nothing wrong in helping with the dishes, or making a bed, or helping to change the babies when they have a mess in their pants.

Personally, I will still help around the home after many years of marriage. I still hold my wife's hand in public, and will always open a car door when possible.

Ephesians 5:25a "Husbands, love your wives"

Titus 2:4b (wives are) "to love their husbands, to love their children"

A home without love is a house used to sleep in. A home without Christ Jesus is a house full of the walking dead.

Proverbs 5:19 "Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love."

Husbands, hopefully you love your wives as much as God has intended you to.
