Daily Devotional for October 23

John 15:4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in Me."

Christ Jesus wants to make His dwelling place in you. He would like you to think of Him as a friend to tell your troubles to. He would like all of your thoughts, actions, opinions, hopes, aims, impulses, and aspirations to be in Him.

He would like you to be able to say without reservation, "When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with Him in glory". Colossians 3:4

John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you."

The power of prayer is in you when His words are abiding in you.

The power of unconditional love is at work within your being when His words abide in you.

The power of forgiveness is released in your soul and spirit when His words abide in you.

You may say, "That's well with you, but I feel distant and powerless when it comes to prayer". You said the word that separates one from abiding in Christ Jesus. "But" is a word that always brings doubt.

Over the years people that use the word "but" are argumentative and rebellious, because they have not the word of Christ Jesus abiding in them. The flesh loves the word "but", because it gives the flesh the excuse to live in disobedience to what God's word says.

If you are a "but" person, get rightly related to our Lord and Saviour now.
