Daily Devotional for September 1

Matthew 12:43-45 "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation."

This is a picture of a pre-salvation, so-called Christian. They made a profession, but there was no conversion. This type of pre-salvation, so-called Christian may go to Church each Sunday morning only to find themselves in a worse state than they were before by the afternoon.

The pre-salvation, so-called Christian will go to Church because they find rest for their soul. They find peace for awhile. They are not really interested in the word of God because of the satanic influence that causes them to go into a tizzy after they leave the house of God.

There are many pre-salvation, so-called Christians in the Church today because of humanism that is being preached. "All roads lead to heaven" - that's humanism and is a lie. "If you will be good and kind, God will accept you" - humanism again. "God would not send anyone to hell" - that's humanism's lie.

The pre-salvation crowd has not the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, therefore they only reason in their natural man 1 Corinthians 2:14.
