Daily Devotional for September 18

Ephesians 6:1-3 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth."

In today's society it is very hard for children to obey their parents, because most parents have left the Lord out of their lives. Therefore they bring their children up only with a token assent of the knowledge of the Lord.

Most homes have not even taught the children how to pray for their supper. When the question of Godly things comes up the parents may say, "It's your choice". Children go to public school and only hear Jesus Christ as a swear word.

Children do not need a foundation in humanism which exalts the self above, but the foundation needs to be in the Lord Jesus Christ the Saviour.

Children are precious, and should be taught of the love of God, not the stupidity of "Mother nature" on earth day. These things are none less than false gods of old times. Children are important. This is why God Almighty said that we are to teach them of His ways.

Deuteronomy 6:7 "And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shall talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou riseth up."
