My word hath no place in you
Daily Devotional for September 23

John 8:37 "I know that you are Abraham's seed; but you seek to kill Me, because My word hath no place in you."

Jesus was talking to the scribes and Pharisees at this time, who could quote the Old Testament flawlessly; but they had murder in their hearts.

Christians of today know so little of Christ Jesus' words. They may go to Church on Sunday, only to hear a fifteen minute sermonette. The rest of the week they do not even open their Bibles to read them, or they may look at a daily devotional for a couple of minutes.

2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

If you want Christ Jesus' words to abide in you, please take time to study them. When reading the Bible we should ask the Holy Spirit to give us insight on what we are studying. When we go to Church we should write notes when the preacher is sharing the gospel. Then go home and study what you have written down.

Are you taking the time to study God's Holy word? Or has the word no place in you? If you are one that thinks he or she studies enough, you are becoming familiar with God's word.
