Pastor's Thoughts for September 2002

A so-called Christian still hears the Word of God in the flesh. Therefore they are still subject to the prince and power of the air, satan. Satan lets them go to Church as long as he can control the sin in that so-called Christian's life. Satan knows because of experience that a flesh hearing, so-called Christian has no spiritual discernment.

This so-called Christian may go to Church three times a week, but never receives doctrine into their being. They do not leave Christ, because they would think it wrong. They just never move forward, learning to know Him. Instead they stay the same or grow less spiritual over the years. They hide their backslidden state with pride of self-righteousness doing good of some sort, but living totally a deprived life of spirituality.

They might even love messages on the Great Grace of God, but when sin is being preached they are dull of hearing. This leaves them in the backslidden state fulfilling the demonic system of this world, and it's lusts completely.

The backslidden so-called Christian has for their norms and standards lukewarmness, as Jesus Christ is always outside of the door of their heart standing and knocking but is never let in.

The backslidden so-called Christian needs to be delivered from deep dark sin, which if left unchecked leads to an eternity of damnation.

This backslidden so-called Christian needs to be transformed from the kingdom of darkness into the Light of Life. He or she needs to find a Church that preaches with an anointing of God to break the yoke of bondage they have been living in.

One great way to stop all backsliding is found in Philippians 3:10
"That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death".
